Worst day of my life.

Today we were at my mom's, which is where we normally are on the weekends. As I've said before, I take care of her and my step dad. Today was no different, it was a beautiful 87 degrees. My mom lives in the sticks. A private drive, no neighbors, no water sources, nothing but flat land. The boys are allowed to play outside there. They ride bikes, dig in the dirt, chase the cat, play fetch with the dog, and explore. They come in every few minutes or I go check on them.  Landon came in and said, "Mommy, I can't find Parker." Immediatly, I jumped up, put the baby in her exersaucer, and went outside. No sign of him. None. Silence. I started calling his name. Each call getting louder and screechier with panic. Still no answer. I start frantically looking for him, calling for him, Landon was calling for him, my mom even went out the front door dragging her oxygen with her, looking for him.

Finally, I heard a muffled, "I'm wight heah."

"Where?" I called, thinking I heard him from one of the sheds.

"Heah!" And I looked over to the van. I will never forget my sweet baby's bright red face beaded with sweat.  I ran over. Doors locked. Of course. I run back inside, grab the keys, vaguely hearing Ali cry as she was scarred from everyone screaming. I open the van, bring Parker out, he was drenched in sweat. His head was completely wet, his body was wet, his blue spider man shirt was damp, he was hot. Remember, it was 87 degrees and he had been in the van at least 10 minutes. I brought him inside praising God that I had found him. I had him drink luke warm water, because I didn't want him to cool off to fast. I took his temperature, and it was 101.7, then I cleaned him up with a damp rag. Afterward, I had him lie on the couch and watch cartoons for a while.

Thankfully, he is fine. it could have ended so much worse, so much worse. Landon saved his life by telling me Parker was missing. He's a hero, we are praising him as well as God, because God worked through Landon to save Parker. Please keep your vehicles locked, I usually do, but today I forgot, and I didn't think Parker could open the doors without pressing the open button (automatic doors).

Take 2

Sam and I have decided we are fat. Well I am, he is just a little chubby. So we started our life style change. Today has been good. I've only consumed about 400-500 calories with a goal of 1000-1200 a day. I have also walked a mile. Go me! Right? Right?!

For dinner we are going to my dad's house to set up his new TV and eat. Nanoo is making BBQ pork, which I am going to only have a spoonful and no bun. Salad with vinegar/oil dressing, corn, and a baked potato. That should put me at 1200ish.

Just day by day...

Sorry I haven't been updating often. Nothing big is happening, and I hate to just ramble about my boring SAHM days. Like today, for instance, I dropped Landon off at school, then came down to mom's, where I have done my laundry, as well as her's, cleaned her house a bit, and dressed her leg. Now I am waiting to make lunch for everyone. After that, I will be heading home for a quick shower and change, then pick Landon up, then take the kiddos to the park to let out some energy. Then home to clean our own home and make dinner. Then Sam will be home, then baths and bed time. Boring, right? Well, maybe not, but it sure is boring to read. Haha.

I think I may start blogging about how I feel about certain parenting topics, such as cloth diapering, and maybe other things, like my hobbies, sewing, ect; to use as fillers. Maybe? Yes? No?

Before I go, a MLT.

Parker was perusing our DVDs and saw Passion, and asked what it was, Sam answered him, "a movie about Jesus." And Park said, "oh I like Jesus! He's my favorite guy!" Lol.

Teaching myself to crochet

A few months ago, I dusted off my "I taught myself crochet" book, bought some yarn, and tried. And failed. And gave up. Then a few days ago, I busted out the trusty ol' youtube, and watched a crocheting tutorial. Turns out I am a visual learner. Anyhow, after a few chains, learning to crochet right handed, though I am left handed, because I read, it would be easier, I churned out a small, well, purple something. It is a little uneven, but it makes for a great cape for small stuffed animals. ;) Now onto starting a small blanket for Ali.

Monkeying Around.

After we got Landon from school today, we surprised them all with a trip to Monkey Joes. They had a blast, even Alta in the little monkey area. Parker was finally brave enough to atempt all the bounce houses, even the biggest, with the longest slide. Landon was a great big brother, showing him the ropes, or hand holds. ;)

Again, sorry about sideways photos, they look right on my phone, but sideways on my blog, and I can't, or don't know how to, fix them on my phone.

Well, I'm off to bathe 3 kids, put a rolling hamster away, watch The Biggest Loser with my biggest love, and clean the kitchen. Have a great night.

Updates on the kids

Since it has been a while since I have updated about the kids, here are some updates.

Landon: He is doing very well in school. He is starting to read, he can count to 100, count by 10s to 100, and he is getting into religion even more. He had his very first play date last week at his best friend's house.

Parker: He is doing well. We are working on his number recognition at home. He is still very sweet, and he is very into legos lately. Although it took him a whioe, he finally warmed up to his sister.

Alta: She is 8 months old now. She is crawling, pulling to stand, giggling, starting to eat more solids, waving, giving kisses, sometimes clapping. What little sponges they are.

Our Cat is Old.

Well, since I was 11, I have had a cat named Sassy (original, right?). She is nearing 15, and her health is failing. She is diabetic, has hyperthyroidis, and kidney disease. And while the vet says she isn't in any pain, she will be in the next few months to a year. When she starts showing signs of pain, it will be time. I am very sad, I am just trying to make memories of her and the kids together.

On another note, our Christmas kitty, Cleo, was spayed and had fatty tumor removed and now she is good to go until her vaccines next year.

MLT

Landon: Look how clean my hands are!
Me: Yes. How did that happen?
Landon: I washed them with soap one time!
Me: That's nice
Landon: Soooooooo......... Can Ali lick 'em?

We bought a house!

Well, not really. But we are buying it, and closing will be the end of June.

It is in a small village of 10 houses or so, right along the river. An old farmhouse with 2 small bedrooms and one large bedroom upstairs, a bedroom on the main floor, a dinning room, living room, kitchen, and mudroom also grace the main floor. There is also large garage, a shed, and a small barn/chicken coop. We are hoping for a few goats and chickens by this time next year.  We are so happy. :)
